How To Collect My Hertz Rental Car
Ok as you would expect Hertz being one of the biggest car rental providers in the world have a rental desk in all five terminals at Heathrow airport. When you land and have gone through the mad business of collecting your luggage, just follow the signs to Rental Cars. Heathrow airport has clear signs around the terminals directing passengers to the correct areas.
If however you are driving or simply returning your Hertz rental car, here are the postcodes you will need for your Sat Nav.
Hertz Car Rental Terminal Locations
Heathrow Terminal 1 – TW6 1AP, The hertz car rental desk in terminal 1, is located just as you come out of arrivals
Heathrow Terminal 2 – TW6 1AP, The Hertz Car Rental desk in terminal 2, is located on level 1 – Arrivals and Departures B Gates
Heathrow Terminal 3 – TW6 1QG, The Hertz Car Rental desk in terminal 3, are located Level 0 opposite Emirates Chauffer Drive Lounge

However, if you have arrived later in the day and the car rental desks are closed please use the Hertz Courtesy Bus to be taken to the Hertz pick-up and return location. The bus stops is located outside the terminals.

The Journey time is approximately 15 minutes for Terminal 1, 2, 3 and 4 and less than 7 minutes from Terminal 5.
Just remember if you are collecting your Hertz Rental Car in peak rush hour times, this journey may take a little longer, so allow some time for this.
The Age Requirement To Rent A Hertz Car From Heathrow Airport
So if your lucky to be aged 25 to 99 years of age no problems. If, though you are 23 to 24 years old you will need to pay a Hertz young drivers fee currently £36 per day; this is capped at £360 so if you’re hiring a rental car long term this is the maximum, you would be required to pay.
Driver Licence Requirements To Rent From Hertz Heathrow
You will need to have held a full licence held for a minimum of 1 year with no major endorsements, to hire your car from Hertz Heathrow. UK licence holders need to present the photocard part of the licence.
If your driver’s licence is not in the Roman alphabet (i.e. if it is in Arabic, Greek, Cyrillic or Chinese), you will need to bring an International Driving Permit and your domestic licence. For driving licenses from countries not part of the international driving license treaty, an official translation of the license must be presented with the original license.
If you’re a UK driving licence holder, you must present their photocard when hiring a vehicle within the UK or the Republic of Ireland. Customers must go to https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence to create a one-time passcode. This passcode is valid for 21 days and must be presented when picking up your rental vehicle.

Do I Need A Credit Card To Rent My Car With Hertz Heathrow Airport
Yes as with all major rental car providers at Heathrow Airport Hertz require you to have a credit card in your name. Hetz Heathrow will pre-authorise the estimated charges of your car rental, along with any deposit needed.
Currently, Hertz Heathrow charges the amount of £200 which will be authorised against your credit card for the duration of the rental.
Your deposit is a guarantee held in the event of damage/theft of the Hertz vehicle. The amount will be automatically released if there is no theft or damage during the rental period.
Please note that this does not represent your total excess liability to Hertz. Please see the section below which details the excess insurance amounts
Hertz Heathrow will accept American Express, Diners Club, MasterCard (not prepaid), Visa (not prepaid).
Hertz Heathrow will accept a Debit Card for payment, but there are conditions of debit card use:
The debit card must be in the main driver’s name.
MasterCard or VISA only.
If using a debit card to pay, it must be issued by a bank, and the numbers must be embossed upon the card. Please note, the deposit amount will be charged if using a debit card and associated transactions fees may apply.
You cannot pay using a debit card for full size, premium or luxury vehicles.
The Maximum rental duration cannot exceed 28 days when using a debit card.
Prepaid and electronic cards (Visa Electron) are not accepted.
If you fail to present a valid credit card, or there is a lack of satisfactory funds available on the credit card, or the credit card is not in the lead driver’s name, the car rental representative may refuse to release the vehicle.
Insurance Coverage For You Hertz Rental Car
All rental cars from Hertz Heathrow will be fully insured so your completely legal to drive on the UK roads. What will not be covered is the excess in the event of damage or theft to the Hertz Rental Car? The excess amount as this is known by is £1000. You can buy Insurance products to cover this amount and would suggest you do a simple internet search for Excess Reimbursement Insurance Products. Of course, Hertz Rent A Car Heathrow will have insurance products you can buy from them to cover this but can work out to be more expensive than if you were to buy from an outside insurance provider.
If you are unlucky enough to have a breakdown all Hertz Car Rentals come with free breakdown cover. Someone from the AA or the RAC will attend to try and get you going again. If this fails, you would be provided with a new vehicle to continue your journey.
All rental cars from Hertz Heathrow Airport will be supplied with a full tank of fuel. Just make sure you ask what fuel the car take. Petrol or diesel? And be sure to return it full as this is the cheapest way. If you do however not have a chance to fill it up you will be charged an admin fee for refuelling the car.
